Beautiful costumed and bejewelled dancers seemingly comfortable with their personal photographer.

These young women are students of a nearby school for dance and art keeping the richness of traditional dance in south India alive.

The vivid painted stripes and costumes for a traditional "tiger dance". Fun, fearsome and fantastic. I have always loved costumes' abilities to transform and recreate a dancer into something more and something different.

I totally want a tiger costume now.

A typical auto-rickshaw, this one private (and therefore not the usual yellow-black), decorated for a festival. During festivals drivers are often seen take loving care of their vehicles, fancying them up with flower garlands, banana plant leaves, sugarcane stalks and paper streamers. All very bright, fresh and eye-catching.
