Dear Fellow Netters,
First let me condemn the acts of some netters who are trying to suppress a
voice that contradicts theirs.
This is not a desireable tendency.
It is not going to change their opponent's mind. Rather, it would aggravate
his adamant stand. It will further close his eyes.
Above all, internet technology will not let such attempt succeed.
This will also be seen as how the opponants are not ready to listen the
other side. Then, how can there get developed a mutual understanding in
solving the problem?
I wish this would not follow with copycat attempts.
2. This is on Mr. Raj Kumar's mail to Dr. Ramani. I want to comment on Mr.
Raj Kumar's explanation of his stand.
He says,
1. he agrees with the idea of Eelam to Sri Lankan Tamils
2. he disagrees with the idea that getting Eelam is connected with LTTE, and
3. he seems thinking that Sri Lankan Army would be cool and nice with Sri
Lankan Tamils, if there were no war between LTTE and Sri Lankan Army
I understand that his opponents have no problem with his first belief.
Regarding the second one; the reality proves the other way. As one Mr. Bala
Pillai posted to Tamil.Net on Eelam Tamil Resolution, it seems none of the
parties that intiated Eelam issue is not in the bargaining position with Sri
Lanka on behalf of Sri Lankan Tamils. This also implies that any of them got
succeeded, LTTE would not have been in the scene, and the war would not have
started. Also, it is seen in the Sri Lankan scene, the other one-time
militant groups are with Sri Lankan government; and, while representing Sri
Lankan Tamils in the parliment, these parities do not enjoy the support of
the very people they represent.
Looking these facts, pulling the LTTE out of the eelam scene is not only
possible, but also will end in disaster for Sri Lankan Tamils.
It is not a simple issue of seperating oranges and apples or filtering
coffee. It is more than that, like demolishing two columns bolstering a
skyscraper together with another pair. Such act will drag everything
together down; a total collapse.
Whether we like it or not, LTTE is in the equation with a big parameter
coefficient, irrelevant to its sign.
Mr. Raj Kumar's last assumption - he should excuse me for saying it - only
shows how shallow his knowledge and experience on this sri Lankan
issue. At least he should know that he does not know much on the field
situation and the past history.
While understanding his soft heart and kind thoughts, I hate to say that the
real-time operations are not based only on theories and our own built up
package of morality. We have to accept the cruel truth.
God Bless you.
Praying for the best of all,
Jana
